On August 9, data showed that from January to June 2022, 13,067 enterprises above designated size in the garment industry, with a cumulative operating revenue of 688.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 4.5%; The total profit was 30.7 billion yuan, up by 4.0% year on year; The profit margin was 4.5%, up 0.31 percentage points year on year; The industry lost 27.0%, down 0.9 percentage points year-on-year. The output of garments was 11.3 billion pieces, down 1.5 percent year-on-year. The industry employed an average of 2.36 million workers, down 4.3% from a year earlier.
