From January to July, the industrial added value of textile enterprises above designated size increased by 0.3% year-on-year, operating income was 2,957.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%; total profit was 105.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 21.2%; industry loss was 25.1%, an increase of 2 percentage points year-on-year . The output of yarn, cloth, clothing and chemical fiber of enterprises above designated size decreased by 6.3%, 4.7%, 1.5% and 0.4% respectively year on year. The average number of workers employed in the industry was 5.52 million, a decrease of 3.1% over the same period of the previous year.
